"Man is bestowed with the power of imagination, creativity and expression by God. A good educational institution always plays an important role in promoting and polishing these gifts of God in its students".

KIT construction was commenced in December 1998 and the Phase-I of this project was completed in September 2000. The Ex-Governor of Punjab, Lt. Gen (R) Muhammad Safdar, inaugurated the Institute on 23 November 2000. since then it has been visited by several distinguished educationists like Vice Chancellor Fatima Jinnah Women University Rawalpindi, Principal Women Polytechnic Institute Islamabad, Principal Polytechnic Institute Jhelum, Principal Swedish Institute of Technology Gujrat, Principal Polytechnic Institute Rasul. They appreciated the standards of technical education being maintained here.

In the first academic session only three technologies were introduced: -

a.         DAE in Computer Technology

b.         DAE in Electronics Technology

c.         DAE in Electrical Technology

Presently, four more technologies are offered in the KIT that are:-

c.         DAE in Information Technology

d.         DAE in Civil Technology

e.         DAE in Mechanical Technology

f.          DAE in Metallurgy & Welding Technology

Every department has acquired well-equipped Laboratories / Workshops. These facilities are updated with the advancement of technology. Establishment of KRL Institute of Technology at Kahuta will go a long run in providing practical hands on meaningful Technical training to the youth of this area enabling them to meet confidently with technical problems in their related fields.
